Republic Tiger Pride Band Booster Meeting
July 3, 2017
The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Stephanie Callahan. Location was the band room. She
commented on all of the new faces we saw volunteering for Have a Blast and the food committee meeting.
You are very appreciated.
The minutes from the June 5, 2017 meeting were read by Carol Moncado.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Barb Houser.

Mr Altis’ Report
 Does not have football schedule, sent email requesting it
 Competition schedule – requests sent to 3 different festivals
o Looking to overnight in KC, Worlds of Fun – will look into costs
 Copyright permission has been received
 Box truck still needs repairing
 More info was given about the show. The title is “Rise” and instead of a story, it is more of a
concept. For props, we will have a ship with a PVC mast that is easily movable, yet sturdy. There
will also be tarps with maps.
 Uniform Distribution
o July 19 – percussion/pit/larger students in afternoon, seniors/juniors in evening
o July 20 – sophomores, freshman
o Shoes are available to try on for sizing. Orders will be given to Mr. Altis.
 Popsicles taken care of freezing

Old Business
 Have a Blast – June 30
o We are still waiting to hear from Mr. Edwards about the amount of funds earned at the
parking lot fundraiser.
o We netted $275 from cotton candy sales
o The booth was in a new location this year. There was discussion as to whether it was
better, worse, etc.
 Corporate sponsors
o The letter has been drafted, updated and a return date added. There was discussion
about the return date – August 15?
 Cookie Dough Fundraiser information will be given to the students on Wednesday, July 12
o Last year, received 40% back, but things did not go smoothly. We must meet a certain
threshold to get our percentage back.
o We will offer prizes of our own – gift card and front of the line food pass (after the seniors)
o We ask that the students do not do any cold calling
o Fundraiser held July 12-20
 The lights are fixed on the semi-trailer.

Food Committee Report
Carmen Wallace is organizing the food and popsicle volunteers for band camp. It was mentioned
that we need to begin gleaning her knowledge before Kenny graduates.

New Business
 Uniform Distribution
o Volunteers are needed
o Students will be asked to have NEW/CLEAN SOCKS and marching shoes on while trying
on uniforms
 Grandma/seamstress likely moving
 Smaller generator needed to run the lights on the trailer. That way we don’t have to wait for the
large generator to get back from the field with the pit equipment.
o Could also be used for Have a Blast, chili supper, etc
o Approximate cost is $700
o A band parent, Jamie Woody, to check with husband’s employer to see if it can be
obtained at cost.
 Dessert sign up for Stepping Out – 2 dozen desserts per
 David and Becky Fenton – David passed away 7/2 – Director of Transportation, wife was music
teacher in Republic – something from band to the family
The meeting was adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
